Rep. Zimmerman re-appointed to the Budget Writing Committee

MADISON – Rep. Shannon Zimmerman (R-River Falls) has been re-appointed to the Joint Committee on Finance, the Legislature’s powerful budget writing committee.

“As a senior member of the committee, I will again play a significant role in developing & approving a State Budget that taxpayers can afford,” said Rep. Zimmerman. “This is great news for Western Wisconsin to once again have a seat at the table.”

The Joint Committee on Finance is a 16-member standing committee of the Wisconsin Legislature, with the responsibility to review all state appropriations and revenues. After the Governor introduces his budget, the bill is introduced into the Committee for review.

Zimmerman will serve alongside with fellow Republicans: Rep. Mark Born (R-Beaver Dam), Rep. Tony Kurtz (R-Wonewoc), Rep. Jessie Rodriguez (R-Oak Creek), Rep. Alex Dallman (R-Green Lake) and Rep. Karen Hurd (R-Withee).

“These representatives have a depth of knowledge and experience that will serve Wisconsin taxpayers well when crafting the next two-year budget,” said Speaker Robin Vos. “We can be assured they’ll work diligently to craft conservative solutions to the fiscal issues our state is currently facing.”

Zimmerman represents the 30th Assembly District which includes parts of St. Croix and Pierce counties.
