Residential parking goes into effect Sept. 1

RIVER FALLS – The City of River Falls Residential Parking Ordinance 12.06 goes into effect on Sept. 1, 2024 through May 31, 2025 for most residential parking zones. Parking in these zones is restricted from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays. Zone C in the Residential Parking Zone is in effect from Sept. 1, 2024 through Aug. 31, 2025. Zone C is restricted during the hours of 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., also excluding Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays. 

To save time in obtaining your permit at the Police Department you can submit an online Residential Parking Permit Application at https://www.rfcity.org/335/Residential-Parking-Permit-System or print the form off from the web site and mail it in to City Hall. You can also view the map which reflects different permit zones on this site.

Permits can be obtained at City Hall during limited in-person application times. You will need proof of residency within the permit zone and a completed application:

  • 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20
  • 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 22
  • 2-4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26
  • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28
  • 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Aug. 29
  • 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4
  • 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 5

After initial issuance dates, permits will be issued by applying online or by appointment at City Hall.
