daman, I can't say enough about them. Or Nancy Gunderson, who I worked with for 13 years before that. And the coaches, the athletes, obviously, I’m just going to miss that kind of stuff, interactions in the hallways, that kind of stuff.”

Between athletics and other school activities, Hall had organized and attended around 2,000 different events at River Falls since starting there in 2003. This also includes many state championship events that River Falls High School has either attended or won, including the school's co-op St. Croix Fusion girls' hockey team three peat state championships from 20092011.

Going into retirement, Hall hasn’t thought too much on what he may do in his newly found free time. Although he did share some ideas on what he could possibly be doing down the line.

“This job has been so consuming for 18 years, you know, you think if you're not at work, you're thinking about it elsewhere. And now all of a sudden, next Wednesday, it's going to be nothing,” Hall said. “I like to fish. I can see myself doing more fall hunting because as a football coach, the falls get pretty busy and I couldn’t hunt as much as I might have liked to. Doing a couple projects just for the fun of it. Some historical stuff both for the River Falls sports, some history stuff, as well as the Big Rivers Conference, statistical type things that I enjoy doing. You know, I'm sure the wife has got many jobs that she wants me to do also.”

Looking back on the job itself, Hall gave his reflections on the uniqueness that comes with being an athletics and activities director.

“I will tell you that there is no book on how to be an athletic director, or I should say, activities director, because I also have band and choir and FFA and all those things. But there's no, I mean, there's no, there's no rules of the trade or anything like that. You will learn on the job. And also, I'm still learning even until the last day,” said Hall.
