RIVER FALLS – Downtown River Falls will transform into a vibrant landscape as River Falls Days 2025 brings four days of celebration, community connection, and unforgettable entertainment July 10-13. With the theme “Kinni in Bloom,” the festival will feature stunning floral displays, lush greenery, and a focus on sustainability, celebrating the natural beauty and creative energy of the river city.
“The team came up with three possible themes for our first year of community voting,” said Rillie Zwiefelhofer, marketing and communications manager for the River Falls Chamber of Commerce & Tourism Bureau. “We opened a survey to the community and the Kinni in Bloom won by popular vote. River Falls chose the theme.”
The festivities begin at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, July 10, with a Kickoff Party featuring DJ Mitch, and continue through Sunday, July 13, culminating with the annual Car Cruze during the day and a spectacular fireworks display at dusk.
Festival highlights
The Main Stage musical lineup includes:
New this year is the Laser Light Show, a colorful night-sky display choreographed to music (July 11). The traditional grand finale fireworks will cap a weekend of festive fun July 13, lighting up the night sky over Hoffman Park.
The grand River Falls Days Parade will be held Friday, July 11, showcasing units of all kinds, including local businesses, blooming bands, and amazing clubs and groups. The chamber asks people to "hug the curb" as parade participants will come to you with any giveaways. This will ensure everyone’s safety.
Embracing the “Kinni in Bloom” theme, the festival will include:
Purchase a commemorative “Kinni in Bloom” button for a chance to win fantastic prizes; 200 buttons will be available for $10 during River Falls Days. Prizes include a 50-50 raffle, lawn care from Green Oasis, or the grand prize: a year of groceries valued at $2,600 from Ptacek's Family Market. If you want to skip the raffle, a limited quantity of buttons will be available for $5 before or after the festival at the River Falls Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau Office.
Local businesses throughout River Falls will adorn their storefronts with creative floral and greenery displays all through July, bringing the festival's theme to life across the city. Besides the gorgeous visual displays, there is something for everyone:
“River Falls Days continues to be a celebration of everything that makes this community special," said Rosa Magnus, Chamber CEO. "The River Falls Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau is proud to work with River Falls City Hall and so many amazing partners throughout the community to make this possible."
Zwiefelhofer said more than 100 volunteers help make River Falls Days a success.
“The planning itself for the festival is done by the Chamber staff made up of three full-time employees,” she added. “We are bringing community and businesses together for a longstanding tradition of events along with new offerings every year. The feeling of pride and joy this event brings to our community is tremendous.”
When asked if staff has a favorite part of the festivities, Zwiefelhofer said that’s a tough question because there’s something for everyone.
“We pride ourselves in keeping the festival low cost for attendees by offering free entry, free laser light show, free performances, free fireworks, free kids' activities, and more,” she said. “There are some paid items by vendors, but the majority of RFD is paid for by the Chamber and its partners to offer an experience for all.”
