RF Forward Education Foundation hosts murder mystery dinner

RIVER FALLS – The River Falls Forward Education Foundation will be hosting a murder mystery dinner on Saturday, Feb. 26 at Tattersall Distilling (1777 Paulson Road).

The event will serve as a fundraiser for the River Falls School District said Samantha Rose, a coordinator for the event.

“The Forward Foundation funds the River Falls School District each year,” Rose said. “We typically give up to $20,000 to teachers, support staff and administrators to enhance creative learning initiatives.”

This is one of the events that allows them to be able to raise those funds for the year. The event is new for the area. The foundation has hosted other events but this is the first time it’s hosting a murder mystery dinner.

“This is our very first year hosting a murder mystery event. In the past we’ve done dueling piano nights and wine tasting at local wineries,” Rose said. “We’ve also done holiday concerts. We are ready and excited to bring new entertainment to River Falls.”

The foundation is partnering with Tattersall Distilling, who will serve the food and beverages. Rose walked through what the evening is going to look like for guests.

“The evening will start with a social hour featuring hors d'oeuvres and signature cocktails,” Rose said. “The entertainment portion will be done in four different acts with breaks in between to look for clues.”

During the breaks between acts there will be opportunities for guests to buy raffle tickets and participate in a live dessert auction, providing many opportunities to donate to the foundation

throughout the night.

The actors in the show come from a professional entertainment company that the foundation hired for the event.

“The actors come with the entertainment company, ‘Dinner Detectives,’” Rose said. “Our foundation has also been asked to pick out a few attendees to be part of the show. They may or may not know that they are part of the act though which is fun.”

The dinner will be interactive for this reason and guests will have to help the cast investigate the mystery throughout the night.

The tickets for the event are available on the Forward Foundation website forwardrf.org, along with additional sponsorship opportunities.

Rose said, “Sponsorship is available, with that you don’t receive a special part in the show per say but you do receive tickets as part and special recognition.”

There are multiple options for tickets and sponsorships. To reserve a full table which is 10 tickets will cost $625; two tickets cost $125 and one ticket is $75. The sponsorship options range from Director to Supporter and all come with different incentives.

For more information on the sponsorships and what to expect with donating, visit the website for full lists of information. For other questions email [email protected]

The foundation is proud to provide funds to the River Falls School District and is excited for this new event in River Falls.

“We are really excited to be hosting an event at Tattersall and partnering with them to host a fun and mysterious evening,” said Rose.
