What are the biggest challenges faced by the township? The biggest challenge I see facing the town is the balance of development and growth while staying true to our rural roots.

What are the strengths of the township? The town is a beautiful place and has a lot to offer the residents of the area. There are many services such as the parks and the recycling center. I have also found that the Town of River Falls residents are loyal and truly care about the town.

Why should people vote for you? As clerk for the past two years, I've worked hard to modernize town clerk processes and make everything run more efficiently. I'd love the opportunity to continue to serve and grow in these areas.

What is your favorite part of living in this township? How long have you lived here? I've lived in the town for 13 years and love that I have easy access to city amenities but still live in the country with plenty of space and great scenery.

Rita Kozak*

Occupation: Adjunct instructor

Position for which you are running: Town of River Falls Treasurer

Previous elected offices: Town of River Falls treasurer 2013-present, Pierce County Board 1992-2002

Community/civic activities: I currently volunteer at Adoray’s Treasures from the Heart. I have also served as moderator for school board and other election forums.

What are the biggest challenges faced by the township? Land use associated with growth, road maintenance and the need for citizen participation.

What are the strengths of the township? The Town of River Falls’ biggest strengths are its commitment to managing its resources—this includes wise land use decisions, mindful budgeting and inclusion of residents in town committees.

Why should people vote for you? For the past 10 years I have worked with the clerk and town board to manage the town’s finances so that tax dollars are optimized to benefit town residents. This takes time and effort, which I am willing to spend in order to adhere to state and town guidelines and regulations.

What is your favorite part of living in this township? How long have you lived here? I have lived in the Town of River Falls for 36 years. I enjoy living in the town because of its location, beauty and friendly residents.
