RFHS seniors named 2025 National Merit Finalists

RIVER FALLS - Two River Falls High School seniors have been named 2025 National Merit finalists in the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship program. Corbin Wild and Graham Rundle have joined an elite group around the nation, with approximately 15,000 other students selected as finalists for the 70th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

Selected as semi-finalists in the fall of 2024, they advanced after submitting a comprehensive scholarship application highlighting their academic achievements, school and community involvement, leadership experience, employment history, and honors. Additionally, all finalists must maintain an outstanding academic record, secure an endorsement and recommendation from a school official, write an essay, and achieve SAT or ACT scores that confirm their performance on the qualifying test.

“Corbin and Graham exemplify the qualities of a National Merit Scholar—hard work, perseverance, leadership, and dedication,” says RFHS Principal Kit Luedtke. “Their achievement is well deserved.”

These outstanding seniors now have the opportunity to compete for some 6,870 National Merit Scholarships worth nearly $26 million that will be offered this spring and summer.

Wild and Rundel will be honored during the senior Scholarship Awards Night at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 7 in the River Falls High School auditorium.
