Richard Edward O’Neill, age 79 of Plymouth, MN, formerly of Ellsworth, WI, passed away on December 18, 2020 at the Mission Nursing Home in Plymouth, MN. Richard was born July 1, 1941 in River Falls, WI to John Francis and Agnes Mary (Huppert) O’Neil. He graduated from Ellsworth High School, with the Class of 1959. Richard’s life with blessed with a son, Apollo. He worked in sales for most of his working career.
Richard appreciated the peacefulness of being outdoors. He was very social and enjoyed the company of others. He had a great smile, was often happy and got along with just about everyone. Richard was a good friend to many, always there when you needed someone to talk with, never passing judgement and offering practical advice and a caring heart.
Richard is survived by his son, Apollo (Christina) O’Neil of Clearwater, FL; step-daughter, Alysa; 3 grandchildren, Adara, Locklan and Corwin O’Neil; siblings, Duane (Judy) O’Neil of River Falls, Diane (Kevin) Johnson of Ellsworth, Peggy (Gary) Falde of Ellsworth, Dan O’Neil of Ellsworth, John (Mary) O’Neil of Ellsworth, Karen (Pete) Traynor of Ellsworth and David (Laurie) O’Neil of Ellsworth; many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, John Francis and Agnes O’Neil; and infant sister, Marjorie.
With the ongoing Covid pandemic and following Richard’s wishes, no formal services will be held at this time.
