PIERCE COUNTY - In celebration of Dairy Month this June, Ridge Breeze Dairy is recognizing the vital role of modern farming in strengthening Wisconsin’s economy, protecting natural resources, and supporting the future of the state’s dairy industry. As part of our ongoing commitment to community engagement, Ridge Breeze is spotlighting the economic and environmental contributions its operation makes to Pierce County and the broader region.

Ridge Breeze Dairy continues to operate under some of the most rigorous state and federal environmental regulations in the country. This means the farm is operating entirely within the Wisconsin DNR’s water reporting and manure requirements – carefully managing soil conditions, nutrient levels, and weather factors to prevent runoff and protect local waterways.

Key environmental facts about Ridge Breeze Dairy:

  • Zero-discharge standard for runoff on the production site, preventing pollution in navigable waters;
  • Nutrient management planning to improve soil quality and reduce reliance on commercial fertilizers;
  • Advanced manure management systems and precision farming to minimize environmental impact; and
  • Dairy farms like Ridge Breeze used 21% less land, 30% less water, and 20% less fuel compared to 2007.

Ridge Breeze Dairy also plays a key role in the $116 billion Wisconsin agriculture industry and supports the local economy through direct employment, business partnerships, and tax revenue. The growth of Ridge Breeze Dairy will result in:

  • 20 new good-paying jobs, bringing total employment at the farm to 40 direct positions;
  • $25 million in annual purchases from local vendors and service providers, benefiting businesses like feed mills, veterinarians, and equipment dealers; and
  • Increased demand for locally produced, organic fertilizers, reducing the need for imported commercial fertilizers.

Ridge Breeze is encouraging residents and officials to consider the proven benefits of modern farming. Ridge Breeze Dairy is proud to participate in Dairy Month by sharing how today’s farms are evolving to protect the environment, grow the economy, and ensure a stable, local food supply for generations to come.

As Wisconsin’s dairy industry adapts to the loss of small farms, operations like Ridge Breeze Dairy are ensuring that the state remains a national leader in dairy production. By investing in sustainable technology, supporting local businesses, and operating under high environmental standards, Ridge Breeze Dairy is helping maintain the future of Wisconsin agricultural heritage.

Ridge Breeze Dairy is a Pierce County-based dairy farm owned by Breeze Dairy Group of Appleton.
