Rita M. Klug, 70 years, died peacefully at Prescott Nursing & Rehab Center (PNRC) Prescott, Wis., from a long battle with cancer on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2025. She was cared for by a great team including her son Ben, sisters, family, friends, St. Croix Hospice, and PNRC staff.

Rita was born June 16, 1955, to Randolph and Lucille (Parkhill) Walz. She was married to James Klug on Oct. 23, 1976.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Jimmy Klug, her parents Randolph and Lucille Walz, her brother James Walz.

She is survived by her son, Benjamin Klug and sisters: Judy Walz, Nancy Johnson, and Christine Skog. Further survived by nieces: Anita (Terry) George, Ronda (David) Luna, Elizabeth Reynolds. Nephews: Eric (Leah) Johnson, Jason (Michelle) Skog, Tim (Carla) Skog, Jon Chapman, Travis Holst, Andrew (Patricia) Gollin, and Trevor (Alexandra) Holst Sr. Great nieces/nephews: Colin (Ariel) Johnson, Seth Johnson, Jarret (Katie) Johnson, Dimitri (Liz) Luna, Marcos (Bri) Luna, Mariah Nadolny, Luke Nadolny, Sydney Skog, Raelynn Skog, Madelyn Skog, Charlotte Skog, Isabella Gollin, Harrison Gollin, and Trevor Holst Jr. Two great-great nephews Jayce & Kayden Johnson, and many friends in Ellsworth and Germantown.

Rita was born in River Falls and went to school in Spring Valley, Elmwood and Ellsworth, Wis. She moved to Germantown with her sister Judy when she was about 16. Rita spent over 27 years running her small cleaning business, “I Shine for You,” mostly in Germantown, Wis. She enjoyed making life easier for so many people and becoming friends with many of them. She’s never regretted any of her years spent helping other people. She has touched many lives. She’s made people laugh with all her silliness. She cared genuinely and helped in more ways than just cleaning, and as many of us know, if it is not “Rita-fied,” it is not clean enough--she had her particular way! And she dosed out cleaning orders up until she let go and rested from her labors, only a few days later.

We will celebrate Rita in a “Celebration of Life Service” May 2, 2026, and have set up a memorial fund “Rita Klug Family Trust” with donations going towards expenses and support for her son, Ben. Donations are absolutely not expected but are appreciated. For more details please email ritafamilytrust@outlook.com or mail to Rita Klug Family Trust, 1311 Main St. E. Menomonie, WI 54751
