River Falls EDC recognizes Jerry Wilkens

RIVER FALLS – During the River Falls Economic Development Corp’s annual meeting on Feb. 10, Jerry Wilkens was recognized as the organization’s first Emeritus Board Member.

The RFEDC is a voluntary non-profit organization that collaborates with the City of River Falls, the Pierce County EDC, St. Croix County EDC, and the Wisconsin EDC on economic development to increase employment opportunities through industrial development.

Wilkens was a founding member of the RFEDC in 1988. Since that time, the organization has assisted in the development of several River Falls industrial parks, constructed several incubator buildings to assist young companies prosper, and in 2018, opened the St Croix Valley Business Innovation Center, serving multiple emerging businesses with flexible operating space and coaching and advisory services to support their success.

“We wanted to recognize Jerry’s contribution to the RFEDC and the greater River Falls Community. As a former business owner in the community, Mayor of River Falls, and key player in the success of the RFEDC, Jerry has certainly made a positive impact on the River Falls area,” stated Steve Leitch, former RFEDC President. “We have a great board of directors dedicated to the success of the River Falls industrial community. Jerry has shared that dedication from day one.”
