Library Director

River Falls Public Library will be closed on Memorial Day weekend (Saturday, May 28 – Monday, May 31) Our last day of curbside pickup is Friday, May 27, except by special request and as staff are able.

New summer hours

Beginning on Tuesday, June 1 the library will be discontinuing curbside pickup (except by special request) and expanding open (walkin) hours. Monday – Thursday (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

•Friday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

•Saturday (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Summer Library Challenge

The annual summer library theme for all ages is developed by the nationally recognized Collaborative Summer Library Program. The theme for this summer’s library challenge is “Tails and Tales.”

Many of the nation’s public libraries have expanded summer reading programs to include activity-based learning. Reading over the summer months will always be critical for children, and brain health for all ages, but we also want to encourage getting outside and enjoying the weather too!

Online registration for all ages has started. To register go to: https://riverfallspubliclibrary. beanstack.org. If you want help call 715-425-0905 or stop in. We are happy to help you get the whole family registered!

When you register, don’t let the name, “Beanstack” confuse you. That’s just the name of the software program and mobile app that public libraries in Wisconsin are using to support patrons who want to play online. There is also an option to participate through a print (paper-based) program. You can even use the online and print format together for alternative ways to track your progress and get tickets to win end-of-summer prizes.

Special curbside kick-off party!

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 7, join us curbside for cookies with a dinosaur. The first 50 adults will get a really nice quality book tote! The first 100 kids will get a “Tales and Tails” sports bag.

Health and safety procedures

The library is following the latest recommendations to prevent the spread of COVID-19. At this time, we are asking all non-vaccinated people to wear a mask in the library.
