Staff report
TOWN OF TRENTON – A Red Wing man was pronounced dead at the scene of a vehicle vs. motorcycle crash on Tuesday, Aug. 16 in the town of Trenton.
Police responded at 12:42 p.m. to Highway 63 and County Road VV in Hager City. A 2006 Buick Lucerne, driven by Vernon Schoeder, 82, Elmwood, crossed Highway 63 eastbound from County Road VV onto 150th Avenue. He failed to yield the right-of-way and struck a northbound 2022 Piaggo Scooter, operated by John Marshall, 73.
Marshall was pronounced dead at the scene. Schoeder reported no injuries in the crash.
Ellsworth Fire Department, Red Wing Fire Department, Red Wing Area Ambulance Service, Goodhue County Sheriu's Ovce and the Pierce County Medical Examiner's Ovce assisted Pierce County Sheriu's Ovce at the scene.
