Crossing Hwy. 10/Main Street just got safer! The staff of the Ellsworth Public Library helped “facilitate” new crossing flags to help with pedestrian visibility. Pedestrians can grab a flag and carry it while crossing and replace it into the container on the other side of the street. The flags are placed at the intersections of Grant St./Main St. and Chestnut St./Main St. English Lutheran Church is thanked for helping purchase materials and sewing the flags, while the Village of Ellsworth Public Works Department installed the container. The project also was reviewed by the Village’s Streets and Sidewalk Committee, the Pierce County Highway Dept. and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation.
