PRESCOTT – Hopefully you all had a great time last week taking in the Pierce County Fair and all it has to ouer! Yes, summer is moving on and soon school starts. There are a couple dates coming up for you to put on your calendar. Tuesday, Aug. 30 is our end of summer potluck lunch at Freedom Park shelter. Picnic starts at noon with bratwurst, hot dogs, buns and condiments provided. Lemonade and picnic utensils also provided. Bring a dish to pass. Tuesday after Labor Day, Gathering Place fall hours start. We will be open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Lots of activities will resume with speakers, movies, etc. Continuing in August will be Tuesday walking group at 9 a.m., meet at Gathering Place (1220 St. Croix St., Prescott.) Also pickle ball continues, contact Arlene Crane (612-396-4063) for time and location. On Tuesday, Aug. 23 the Book Club meets at 1 p.m. to discuss “Somewhere in the Unknown World” by Kao Kailua Yang, a collective refugee memoir. At 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24 meet your friends for cards! Euchre, bridge or game of your choice will be played. Another day to mark on your calendars is the first Tuesday of every month. These are the Tuesday lunches with lunch provided by members for you to enjoy along with good fellowship.
