Senior Gathering Place activities

PRESCOTT – Our roller coaster month of weather looks like it is going to continue into March. It sure has kept us on our toes choosing winter wear for the morning and switching to spring coats for the afternoon. No matter what the weather brings you will always get a warm welcome at the Senior Gathering Place. We are located at 1220 St. Croix St., Door 5 of the Prescott Middle School. The Senior Gathering Place is open to anyone  age 55 and older.

Wednesday, Feb. 28: Come with your friends to play cards, Euchre, Bridge or games of your choice from 12:30-3:30 p.m.

Thursday, Feb. 29: Pickleball starts at 9 a.m. at Prescott Intermediate School (125 Elm St. N.) At 1 p.m., join your friends in making Easter crafts for the Senior Nutrition Site and for the Meals on Wheels program.

Friday, March 1: Memory Café meets at the First National Bank Community Room (lower level) from 10-11:30 a.m.

Monday, March 4: Chair Yoga (second session) resumes 9:30-10:30 a.m. with pre-registration required. Check in at the Gathering Place.

Tuesday, March 5: Pickleball starts at 9 a.m. at Prescott Intermediate School (1w5 Elm St. N.) Program and Publicity committees meet at 10:30 a.m. at the Gathering Place. Then at noon come and enjoy a potluck lunch. Everyone is welcome, bring a friend.

Wednesday, March 6: Cards are 12:30-3:30 p.m.; join us for Euchre or Bridge. At 1 p.m., we will host Art 101 featuring watercolor painting with a $2 supply fee collected at class. Group will meet in room G9 for this class.

Thursday, March 7: Pickleball starts at 9 a.m. at the Prescott Intermediate School (125 Elm St. N.) Speaker Dr. Rick Spicuzza, superintendent of Prescott School District, will join us at 1 p.m. to discuss the upcoming referendum and field questions.
PLEASE NOTE: Spring break for Prescott School District is scheduled for March 11-15. The Senior Gathering Place will be closed March 11-15 due to this break.
There will not be a movie in March.
The March selection for book club will be “The Quarry,” by Jess Loury.
