PRESCOTT – August, the season of county and state fairs and back to school preparations. It sure feels like summer just got started and soon students will return to the classrooms. Mark your calendars for the Gathering Place Fall Kick-off Potluck Picnic Tuesday, Aug. 25 at Freedom Park! Details below in the schedule.
Coming activities:
Wednesday, Aug. 19: Cards day with Euchre played at 12:30 p.m. and Bridge played at 1 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 20: Members and guests will be playing Bunco at 1:30 p.m. Seasoned players will assist new players, so come and enjoy a fun game.
Friday, Aug. 21: Memory Cafe meets from 10-11:30 a.m. at the first National Bank lower level community room.
Tuesday, Aug. 25: FALL KICK-OFF POTLUCK PICNIC at noon. Held at Freedom Park shelter. All Gathering Place members are invited along with any nonmembers interested in learning more about the Gathering Place. Bratwurst, hot dogs and condiments will be provided as well as iced tea, water and lemonade. Please bring a dish to pass and your appetite! Yard games to follow after lunch. Book Club members will be contacted regarding the place and time of book club.
Wednesday, Aug. 26: Euchre card game will be played at 12:30 p.m.
Thursday, Aug. 27: Canasta will be played at 12:30 p.m.
Remember Labor Day is later this year and doesn't occur until Sept. 8.
Gathering Place is located at Prescott Middle School (1220 St. Croix St., Door 5.) Regular hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30-3:30 p.m.
All seniors age 55 years and older are welcome to attend.
