PRESCOTT – Welcome spring! I hope you are enjoying the daffodils, tulips, magnolia bushes and forsythia bushes that adorn the yards in Prescott! Several Gathering Place members attended a potting session at Seven Sisters north of town earlier this month and are now awaiting the call that the night-time temps are suitable for them to bring home their plantings. Yes, we will soon be mowing lawns but it is so nice to have green grass again!

Wednesday, April 24: Join the active group for cards 12:30-3:30 p.m. Euchre and Bridge are played with time for coffee and treats! It’s a fun group!

Thursday, April 25: Join your friends for pickleball in the gym at Prescott Intermediate School (125 Elm St. N.) from 9-10:30 a.m.
Another chance to play cards at 12:30-3:30 p.m. only this time it is Canasta!

Tuesday, April 30: Pickleball is at Prescott Intermediate School gym (125 Elm St. N.) from 9-10:30 a.m. Soon they will be moving to the outdoor courts!

Special event Tuesday, April 30: At 1 p.m., we will welcome a speaker from the Pierce County Historical Association. The Pierce County CCC Camps will be one of the topics. The Ellsworth camp started in 1935 and lasted until the United States entered World War II in 1942, completing many local environmental projects. According to the National Parks Service, the CCC employed about 3 million men during its nine-year tenure. We will also learn about Fred Johnson, a local gentleman who took selfies before selfies were invented!!
Senior Gathering Place is located at 1220 St. Croix St., Door 5. We are open Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30-3:30 p.m. All seniors 55 years and older are welcome! Bring a friend and have a good time!
