PRESCOTT – Fall appears to be here! The weather is still good but much cooler. Please note that pickleball will meet at 8:30 a.m. outside at Lions Park until the weather changes, then they will move into the gym at Prescott Intermediate School on Elm Street. Walking group will also continue outside at 9 a.m. till weather changes.
Coming activities:
Wednesday, Sept. 25: Join your friends from 12:30-3:30 p.m. for cards. Bridge, Euchre, 500 or game of your choice will be played.
Tuesday, Sept. 26: Pickleball will be played at 8:30 a.m. at Lions Park on Elm Street. If inclement weather hits, pickle ball will move into the school gym at the Intermediate School on Elm Street. From 12:30-1 p.m., gather in Room G9 for treats and beverages prior to our speaker, Matt Smith, new activities director for Prescott schools, who will be speaking at 1 p.m. Canasta will be played in G5 after the speaker.
Tuesday, Oct. 1: Pickleball at 8:30 a.m. at the Prescott Intermediate school gym. 9 a.m. walking group meets at the Gathering Place. Mahjongg is played at 9 a.m. at Joy Lutheran Church (1435 St. Croix St.) At noon is the Gathering Place monthly potluck. Bring a dish to pass and enjoy a good meal and friendship. There will also be sign up today for an upcoming craft project.
Wednesday, Oct. 2: Cards will be played in G5; join other members for Bridge, Euchre, 500 or game of your choice.
Thursday, Oct. 3: Dr. Spicuzza, superintendent of Prescott Schools, will be speaking at 1 p.m. regarding the upcoming school operating referendum which will be on the Nov. 5 election ballot. The presentation will offer information about the state funding crisis pertaining to public schools, how the funds will be used as well as property tax impact on district residents.
Prescott Senior Gathering Place is located at 1220 St. Croix St., Prescott. We are open to all seniors age 55 and older. You are welcome Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 12:30-3:30 p.m. Some activities take place off school campus earlier in the day.
