PRESCOTT – Make note and check your Gathering Place schedules as we are open this June, July and August. Schedules may be a bit modified but many of our regular events are still going on. As you read this you will have missed the June potluck on Tuesday, June 3. There will be no potluck in July and the next one will be a picnic Aug. 26 at Freedom Park. It already feels like summer with the rise in temperatures and summer storms predicted as I write this.
Coming events:
Wednesday, June 4: Cards Day is 12:30-3:30 p.m. with Euchre at 12:30 p.m. and Bridge at 1 p.m. Coffee and treats provided.
Thursday, June 5: Pickleball players will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Prescott Intermediate School Gym (125 Elm St. N.) Meet at the Gathering Place from 12:30-3:30 p.m. and visit with your friends in our cool comfortable meeting space. Work on a puzzle or play a game; there are many to choose from.
Friday, June 6: Memory Café is set for 10-11:30 a.m. at the First National Bank of River Falls - Prescott Community Room, lower level.
Tuesday, June 10: Pickleball players will meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Prescott Intermediate School gym. Mahjongg will be played at 9 a.m. at Joy Lutheran Church. At 1 p.m., socialize and play games with GP friends; coffee and treats provided.
Wednesday, June 11: Euchre will be played from 12:30-3:30 p.m.; coffee and treats provided.
Thursday, June 12: Canasta will be played at 12:30 p.m. Art 101 will be at 1 p.m.
Friday, June 13: A group from Gathering Place leaves at 8:30 a.m. to volunteer at "Feed My Starving Children" in the Cities. Return time is approximately noon. Transportation provided for the first seven registered at GP. Additional volunteers will carpool together.
The Gathering Place is open to all seniors aged 55 years and older. We are located at 1220 St. Croix St., Prescott Middle School, Door 5. Regular hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. All are welcome, so stop by.
