PRESCOTT – March is here and with it lots of changes! Since March came in like a lamb, we are awaiting the lion's exit. But we have been through that before, so no big deal. Other notable events to remember include March 9, daylight savings time begins. So remember to spring your clocks forward and enjoy the extra hour of daylight in the evening! Monday March 17 is St Patrick's Day. Thursday, March 20 is the first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, the spring equinox.
Coming events:
Wednesday, March 5: Euchre and Bridge will be played from 12:30-3:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 6: Pickleball players meet at 8:30 a.m. at Prescott Intermediate School gym (125 Elm St. N.) Hooks and Needles will meet at 10 a.m. with Eileen Bjork; bring your project or learn to knit/crochet. The Gathering Place Advisory Board meets at 10:30 a.m. in room G5.
Friday, March 7: Memory Cafe meets from 10-11:30 a.m. at the First National Bank Conference Room (lower level).
Tuesday, March 11: Pickleball players meet at 8:30 a.m. at Prescott Intermediate School gym.
Mahjong players meet from 9-11:30 a.m. at Joy Lutheran Church. Then at 1 p.m., Karen Cernohous and Colleen Zaudke will be presenting a session and photos of their trip to Ireland. Attending? Wear green!
Wednesday, March 12: Euchre will be played from 12:30-3:30 p.m.
Thursday, March 13: Pickleball players meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Prescott Intermediate School gym. Card game Canasta, will be played at 12:30 p.m., followed by Art 101/Watercolor at 1 p.m.; beginners welcome.
Remember the school spring break is March 17-21 so the Gathering Place is closed.
Senior Gathering Place is located at 1220 St. Croix St., Prescott Middle School. All seniors aged 55 and older are welcome. Hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 12:30-3:30 p.m. with occasional morning events. Ample parking and handicap accessible.
