PRESCOTT – Greetings to all seniors from the Prescott area. I hope you have been finding options to stay cool this past month! Gathering Place has been fortunate to enjoy the conference room at First National Bank for our Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon functions. Very comfortable and cool and we are so grateful to them!
We are looking forward to getting back to our old location in September. Same location, different name: Prescott Middle School room G9! Sixth-, seventh- and eight-graders will be our new neighbors. As of now we are looking at an opening date of Tuesday, Sept. 5 and we will keep you posted.
Gathering Place is hosting a “welcome back” potluck at noon on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at Freedom Park pavilion. Bratwurst and hotdogs will be provided with condiments. Please bring a friend and a dish to pass. Also bring a beverage of choice.
Tuesdays: Walking group continues; meet at Joy Lutheran Church at 9 a.m. Pickleball meets at Lions Park at 9 a.m. Call Arlene at 612-396-4063 for more information.
On the first, second and third Tuesdays meet at 1 p.m. in the conference room at First National Bank for Left, Right, Center or Canasta.
At 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 22, the Book Club will meet at Freedom Park. The August book is “As I Lay Dying” by William Faulkner, a banned book. A couple books are still available, contact Cathy M. at 715-262-3856 if you need one.
Wednesdays: Meet in the lower level conference room at 12:30 p.m. at First National Bank for cards, bridge and euchre.
We had an enjoyable July with a pontoon ride on the river, cards, a class on pressing flowers, walking and pickle ball. Please consider joining us in August and for sure for the potluck picnic at noon Aug. 29 at the Freedom Park Pavilion.
