PRESCOTT – Happy September! I thought life would slow down when I retired but no way! But it is nice to be active in the community doing things I enjoy and meeting so many new people. Being a member of the Gathering Place has been a big part of that and if you haven't already stopped by I hope you will do so this fall. We welcome ideas for new activities and enjoy suggestions. Please note, Tuesday, Sept. 9 is our monthly potluck and speakers. A good chance to see what we are all about.

Coming activities:

Wednesday, Sept. 3: Cards Day – Euchre will be played at 12:30 p.m. and Bridge at 1 p.m. 

Thursday, Sept. 4: Pickleball players meet at 8:30 a.m. at Intermediate School Gym on Elm Street. At 1 p.m., meet at the Gathering Place for social time and treats; all are invited.

Friday, Sept. 5: Memory Cafe meets from 10-11:30 a.m. at the First National Bank community room, lower level.

Tuesday, Sept. 9: Pickleball players meet at 8:30 a.m. at the Intermediate School gym on Elm Street. Mahjongg will be played from 9-11:30 a.m. at Joy Lutheran Church, 1435 St. Croix St.

Potluck lunch at noon with speakers after at 1 p.m. Ken, manager, from Ace Hardware will be speaking as will Crystal Hines, owner of Always Pure Salon.  

Wednesday, Sept. 10: Euchre card game will be played at 12:30 p.m. 

The Senior Gathering Place is located at 1220 St. Croix St., Prescott Middle School, Door 5.

Regular hours are 12:30-3:30 p.m. All seniors age 55 and older are welcome to attend.
