TOWN OF SALEM – Ellsworth Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 9:54 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 11 at N2432 490th St. in the town of Salem.
Crews arrived to find an approximately 28x32 shed heavily involved in fire with the roof already collapsed and an RV trailer adjacent to the shed on fire. According to Asst. Fire Chief Derek Featherstone, crews worked quickly to control the fire spread. There is no residence on the property. Pierce County tax records list Jason Lincoln as the owner.
“Steel from the fallen roof hampered full extinguishment until a skid steer could be utilized to remove the steel,” Featherstone said. “Firefighters spent approximately three hours on scene. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.”
Assisting Ellsworth Fire were Ellsworth Area Ambulance Service, Pierce County Sheriff's Office and Pierce County Dispatch Center.
