PIERCE COUNTY Sheriff’s Office Reports
The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office June 20-27.
Monday, June 20
Officers were called at 8:41 a.m. to W7709 170th Ave., Hager City for a suspicious vehicle report. The vehicle was later identified as stolen out of Red Wing and towed to the registered owner’s address. Red Wing police were notified. A bus driver reported a vehicle driving through flash ing lights and the stop signal on the bus as it was attempt- ing to drop off children at 10:35 a.m. near Highway 29 and County Road N, Spring Valley. Police attempted to call the vehicle’s owner, who had the vehicle registered out-of-state.
Police were asked to perform a welfare check at 11:35 a.m. at N7733 130th St., Spring Valley. A deceased person was found inside the residence.
Officers responded at 3:12 p.m. to W4616 County Road G, Ellsworth, for a juvenile possibly choking on a LEGO. Police assisted EMS as needed.
Deputies assisted River Falls police in attempting to locate a vehicle involved at an assault at 6:27 p.m. at 427 Kennedy St.
Tuesday, June 21
At 12:50 a.m., a Bay City woman requested a welfare check on an ex-boyfriend, who was making suicidal statements to her via text.
Police made contact with him and he told them he was saying suicidal things to her to elicit a response. He declined speaking to a crisis hotline.
Police responded to a vandalism complaint at 10:11 a.m. at W3679 730th Ave., Spring Valley. The stable owner said someone had cut the lock and chain off a gate where horses were kept.
Officers were dispatched at 11:28 a.m. to N4310 710th St., Ellsworth, for a man passed out in a vehicle. A man was arrested for OWI- first. Deputies responded to a one-vehicle crash without injury at 1:22 p.m. near 40th Avenue and 70th Street, Plum City. A vehicle traveling down a township road struck a mound of gravel that was in the process of being leveled by a maintenance worker.
Officers responded at 3:42 p.m. to the Pierce County Jail for a possible suicidal person who took medication in an attempt to cause harm after being released from jail. The person was taken to Sacred Heart in Eau Claire for a voluntary commitment.
Police were called to a two-vehicle crash without injury at 5:24 p.m. at Highway 10 and First Street in Plum City. A crash report will be released.
Deputies were dispatched at 9:34 p.m. to N7652 650th St., Beldenville, for an unwanted person/possible domestic. The parties had separated and the man was advised he was no longer wanted on the property and needed to leave by 9 a.m. June 22.
A caller reported a 2-year old being bit by a dog at 9:47 p.m. at W6871 170th Ave., Bay City. Police made contact with the child’s mother and dog owner.
Wednesday, June 22
Police were asked to check on a woman walking in the road at 1:44 a.m. near Highway 10 and County Road D, Ellsworth. Police located the woman and brought her home. Her par- ents were notified of the incident and provided resources for any further issues.
At 5:56 a.m., police received a driving complaint about a woman whose vehicle had driven into the ditch and crossed the center line several times near Highway 10 and 450th Avenue, Ellsworth. Police located the vehicle and the woman passed field sobriety tests. She said she was just tired. She will be cited.
Acaller reported a downed tree at 6:17 a.m. at 380th and 385th streets in Maiden Rock.
Officers responded to a one-vehicle rollover with in- jury at 6:16 a.m. at W11499 County Road M, River Falls.
The driver was cited for failure to keep control.
A caller in the 1000 block of Cardinal Drive in Spring Valley called police at 6:36 a.m. to report that someone is coming into his residence through the cupboards at night. The person became angry that police didn’t respond right away to “assess the situation.” He called back shortly thereafter and accused officers of messing with him. He said he’d call a different law enforcement agency for help.
At 10:04 a.m., a woman at 316 S. Scott St., Elmwood, reported that someone had disabled her daughter’s car and spray painted their security cameras. The case is under investigation.
Officers checked on a vehicle stopped on the side of the road at 2:48 p.m. near County Road DD and Highway 10, Ellsworth. The woman had taken several rocks from the ditch. She was warned for theft.
At 10:04 p.m., a caller reported a gas theft at W4963 190th Ave., Maiden Rock.
Gas was taken as a civil form of payment from a previous employer. Two juveniles rode ATVs to the location to take the gas, but neither had registration or proof of taking an ATV safety course.
Thursday, June 23
At 1:09 a.m., officers checked on a man sleeping in his vehicle at N1817 785th St., Hager City. The man had pulled over to nap while traveling.
A caller reported possible trespassing at 2:35 a.m. at W5512 Highway 10, Ellsworth. The caller had heard possible motorcycles stop at the property and never heard them leave. No one was located.
At 8:03 a.m., police responded to a home in the 100 block of Johnson Hill Road for a violent and out-of-control juvenile. Charges will be forwarded to Juvenile Intake for disorderly conduct, battery and criminal damage to property.
An officer assisted a snap ping turtle across the highway at 9:43 a.m. near County Road A and Highway 35, Maiden Rock.
Suspicious activity was reported at 1:04 p.m. at N2994 980th St., Hager City.
Police checked on a man walking on the side of the road at 2:29 p.m. near W7515 Highway 10, Ellsworth. Police gave him a ride to the closest gas station.
At 4:55 p.m., deputies responded to County Road J and Highway 65 for a fertilizer truck that had rolled over. A crash report will be released.
Police received a phone call at 5 p.m. from a group home resident at N5335 760th St., Ellsworth, who is not happy with her living situation. The issue is ongoing.
Officers were dispatched at 7:33 p.m. to W4387 Highway 72, Ellsworth, for an unwanted person. A woman showed up there and was asked to leave and did. She refused a courtesy ride.
Deputies were called at 8:48 p.m. to a domestic at N502 300th St., Maiden Rock. A woman left with the children for the evening.
Police responded at 10:08 p.m. to W7274 Highway 35, Bay City, for a disorderly person. The person was ar- rested for felony bail jump ing. River Falls police provided mutual aid and located a driver from a driving complaint at 10:09 p.m. near Highway 65 and 770th Avenue, River Falls. The vehicle was swerving all over the road. The driver was arrested for OWI-third, operating after revocation (alcohol related), failure to install ignition interlock device and misdemeanor bail jumping.
Friday, June 24
Police were asked to assist Spring Valley police with a welfare check at 1:12 p.m. at S105 Newman Ave. A man was located inside and transported to the hospital before being pronounced deceased.
Police responded to a drug complaint at 1:44 p.m. at W10822 690th Ave., River Falls. A woman had located drug paraphernalia in her son’s room and wanted it collected as evidence.
Officers removed a snap ping turtle from the road at 7:12 p.m. at N1950 County Road K, Hager City.
Deputies were called at 10:03 p.m. to N1681 830th St., Hager City, for a bail bond violation of absolute sobriety. A woman was transported to Mayo Hospital in Red Wing, Minn.
Police responded at 11:14 p.m. to W7430 510th Ave., Ellsworth for a domestic. A person was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct. Saturday, June 25 An officer got rid of a sick raccoon at 10:34 a.m. at W3532 Highway 35, Maiden Rock.
Deputies responded at 2:58 p.m. to 201 Flora St., Prescott, to arrest a wanted person. He tried to flee on a motorcycle, but was apprehended.
A caller requested help at 8:56 p.m. near County Road O and 570th Avenue, Ellsworth, where the caller was trying to get an intoxicated woman to stop walking and get into the vehicle. He lost sight of her. The K-9 unit found her passed out in a ditch.
Police received a fire works complaint at 9:55 p.m. at W12086 757th Ave., River Falls. Police were unable to locate any fireworks. Deputies stopped at 11:03 p.m. at County Road FF and 1130th Street, River Falls, to check on an occupied vehicle. The person was cited for possession of THC.
Sunday, June 26
Police responded at 12:41 a.m. to 519 W. May Ave., Elmwood, for two suspicious people walking near the complainant’s vehicle. She also heard screaming in the area. No one was located.
Officers responded at 2:32 a.m. to N8463 1090th St., River Falls, for a possible vehicle theft. Police learned the owner’s daughter had taken the vehicle with permission.
Deputies responded at 11:55 a.m. to W9094 372nd Ave., Hager City, after the DNR located marijuana plants The plants were confiscated and the owner inter viewed.
A vehicle theft was reported at 12:41 p.m. at N1469 367th St., Maiden Rock.
At 2:22 p.m., a bicyclist near W10137 570th Ave., Prescott, reported she wasn’t feeling well and asked for assistance in getting back to her car. After she rested, she declined assistance and continued on her way.
