The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office March 14-21.

Monday, March 14

Police made contact with a person lying in the ditch at 8:48 a.m. near highways 63 and 35 in Hager City. The person had had a verbal argument with his father. His mother picked him up.

Officers were sent at 10:54 a.m. to county roads F and MM, Prescott, for a vehicle in the ditch with no damage. A tow company removed the vehicle.

At 11:09 a.m., a passerby observed an open door at W11094 Highway 29, Prescott. Police discovered someone had forced entry into the residence. Evidence and paperwork were collected; nothing appeared to have been stolen.

An assault was reported at 3:50 p.m. at W7717 570th Ave., Ellsworth. Police spoke with several people.

Deputies were asked to respond at 9:33 p.m. to 1431 Wildcat Court, River Falls, for an open door on a vehicle. The owner was located and notified.

River Falls police requested assistance with a disorderly person at 10:06 p.m. at ValuStay Inn (708 N. Main St.) The woman was taken into custody.

Tuesday, March 15

Police checked on an idling vehicle at 1:15 a.m. in the parking lot of N1817 785th St., Hager City. Everything appeared okay. A caller reported a sick raccoon at 10:02 a.m. at N6235 Highway 65, Beldenville. The deputy located it and shooed it into the woods; it didn’t appear to be sick.

Officers responded to a fire alarm at 11:50 a.m. at W10356 Highway 29, River Falls. The fire department said it was burnt grease causing smoke.

A complainant reported forgery at 12:35 p.m. at N7809 920th St., River Falls. Someone allegedly stole a check from his mailbox and cashed it for more money than he had written it out for.

A deputy escorted a Pierce Pepin employee at 2:28 p.m. onto property at W3104 190th Ave., Maiden Rock, so they could secure the electrical box and pull the meter due to nonpayment.

A shooting complaint was reported at 9:05 p.m. at 317 E. Race Ave., Elmwood. There was no evidence of shooting or a bomb present.

Deputies assisted the Wisconsin Department of Corrections with a home monitoring violation at 10:32 p.m. at N6156 425th St., Ellsworth. A man was arrested and taken to Pierce County Jail.

Wednesday, March 16

A caller reported a gas theft at 1:37 p.m. at N6008 County Road J, Ellsworth. Someone had cut a hole in an SUV’s gas tank.

At 2:24 p.m., police were informed of bridges under water near 450th Street and 465th Avenue, Ellsworth.

A disabled concrete pumper slid down the soft shoulder into the ditch while trying to get out of the traffic lane at 2:27 p.m. near Highway 29 and 640th Avenue, Prescott.

Officers responded at 6:40 p.m. to a business alarm at W7966 140th Ave., Hager City. There were no signs of forced entry or fresh tracks. The keyholder was notified.

A caller reported a trespasser at 6:59 p.m. at N5366 1200th St., Prescott. While police were on the way, the caller located the person on the property and it turns out they had permission.

Deputies were called at 8:05 p.m. to 358 S. Piety St., Ellsworth, for a man passed out and not responding. EMS transported him to Red Wing Mayo.

Thursday, March 17

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle at the end of their driveway at 1:27 a.m. at N8481 690th St., River Falls. One man was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possess drug paraphernalia.

Officers responded to a business alarm at 2:25 p.m. at W7966 140th Ave., Hager City. The building was secure.

A squad car struck a deer at 8:33 p.m. at County Road F and 850th Avenue, River Falls.

Police attempted to stop a motorcycle for speeding at 11:55 p.m. The man pulled into a residence at N2001 690th St., Bay City. The bike didn’t have plates and came back as stolen. The man resisted police and fled. A K-9 was used to track him down.

Friday, March 18

A deputy conducted a security check at 4:25 a.m. at The Bluffs (N1833 785th St., Hager City). People were inside and a door was open. The people were employees.

Officers responded at 7:10 p.m. to assist at a medical call at 358 S. Piety St., Ellsworth. The patient has a history of being uncooperative, but police weren’t needed.

A caller reported a cat hit by a vehicle that was still alive at 9:35 p.m. near 610th Street and County Road J, Beldenville. When police arrived, the cat was dead and removed from the road.

Deputies assisted Prescott police with an intoxicated and disorderly man at 11:18 p.m. at 921 Pearl St.

Saturday, March 19

A caller reported finding an injured pheasant at 9:41 a.m. near 770th Street and Highway 63, Hager City. Information was passed on to the DNR.

A complainant at N6663 County Road J, Beldenville, called police at 10:09 a.m. to report a possible stalking. The caller said an unknown person from Germany was stalking her on social media. The caller was advised to adjust her social media pages and block unknown people trying to contact her.

Officers were asked to respond at 12:13 p.m. to the area of Highway 63 and 760th Avenue, Spring Valley, for suspicious activity. Deputies found a backpack containing clothing. It was brought to the sheriff’s office since no identifying property was found.

Police responded to a fire alarm at 4:50 p.m. at W10356 Highway 29, River Falls. There was no fire and all appeared fine. A deputy came upon a person looking for a ride at 5:58 p.m. near 515th Street and Highway 72, Ellsworth. The officer gave them a courtesy ride to Cenex in Ellsworth.

A caller reported a missing black and white Siberian Husky and a missing brown and black Doberman/Husky mix at 8:54 p.m. at W6911 210th Ave., Bay City.

Sunday, March 20

Police were called at 10:57 a.m. to N8623 County Road Y, River Falls, for a suspicious vehicle complaint. No one was located.

A caller reported finding a Poodle/Chihuahua mix at 3 p.m. near W4940 210th Ave., Maiden Rock.

Hudson police requested deputies perform a welfare check at 5:17 p.m. at W8110 770th Ave., River Falls. A person had apparently made concerning statements when attempting to purchase a firearm. The person appeared to be okay.

Deputies checked on a man walking on the side of the road at 11:30 p.m. near County Road C and Highway 35, Bay City. The man declined assistance and said he had a ride coming.

Monday, March 21

An officer found a set of license plates in the ditch at 1:24 a.m. near N673 825th St., Hager City. A voicemail was left for the registered owner.
