PIERCE COUNTY Sheriff’s Office Reports

The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office Jan. 17-23.

Monday, Jan. 17

A plow truck struck some power lines, causing a power pole to break, at 11:06 a.m. near Highway 72 and 410th Street, Ellsworth. A crash report was completed.

Deputies assisted EMS at 5:51 p.m. at W2426 790th Ave., Spring Valley. They were then diverted to another EMS call assist at 6:05 p.m. at W4419 Highway 29, Spring Valley.

Deputies assisted Ellsworth police with a domestic call at 8:59 p.m. at 540 W. Cairns St.

A caller reported mailbox damage at 9:07 p.m. at N4680 County Road CC, Elmwood. The caller wanted it documented; he was able to fix the mailbox.

Officers responded to a one-vehicle crash at 9:09 p.m. near N1090 825th St., Hager City. The driver was heading to work and lost control on the icy road. Police provided the driver a courtesy ride and the vehicle was towed.

A caller reported a vandalized mailbox at 9:20 p.m. at N4649 County Road CC, Elmwood. He advised the neighbor’s box was damaged as well.

Tuesday, Jan. 18

While patrolling, an officer conducted a security check at 1:28 a.m. at W5900 Highway 35, Bay City. Everything was secure but there were footprints in the snow. Deputies assisted Prescott police with a disorderly person at 3:32 a.m. at 872 Washington St. An unwanted person was reported at 10:42 a.m. at N7015 820th St., River Falls. The person was picking up property, but left before police arrived.

A caller reported a sick animal in her garage at 11:08 a.m. at W6136 230th Ave., Bay City. She was given the town chair’s phone number.

Police responded at 12:53 p.m. to W4380 270th Ave., Maiden Rock, for a domestic between two brothers. Neither one wanted to fill out statements. No one was injured.

An Elmwood caller reported not being able to see his mother in a care facility at 4:34 p.m. Police asked him to contact Public Health.

Officers responded at 5:08 p.m. to W8184 390th Ave., Hager City, for a vehicle in the ditch. They provided lights while the vehicle was towed out.

Police were called at 7:36 p.m. to 117 S. Woodworth St., Elmwood, for a verbal domestic. They gathered information from both parties, who agreed to separate for the night.

An officer was called at 9:04 p.m. to N5556 950th St., Ellsworth, for a suspicious noise. The officer checked inside and outside the residence but found nothing.

Deputies assisted River Falls police at 10:03 p.m. at 930 S. Main St.

Officers responded at 10:25 p.m. to W7909 Highway 29, River Falls, for an active domestic. A woman was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

Deputies responded at 11:20 p.m. to 1553 Paulson Road in River Falls to assist in locating a dog that had been involved in a car fire. They located the dog and returned it to the owner.

Wednesday, Jan. 19

Officers responded at 2:32 a.m. for a business alarm at 404 Omaha Ave., Elmwood. The building was cleared and an unsecured door found.

Deputies assisted EMS at 3:39 p.m. at W12495 US Highway 10, Prescott.

Police were called to a vehicle vs. tractor crash without injury at 4:46 p.m. at N4762 530th St., Ellsworth. A crash report was completed.

Deputies assisted EMS with a medical call at 5:28 p.m. at N6695 Highway 72, Elmwood.

A caller reported a possible prowler looking through windows at 6:54 p.m. at W7709 170th Ave., Hager City. When police arrived, they found a Door Dash food order, but the complainant hadn’t ordered it. They contacted the restaurant, but employees there had no Door Dash information.

Thursday, Jan. 20

Police pulled over a vehicle at 2:53 a.m. near Highway 65 and 650th Avenue, Beldenville, for a white light shining from the rear of the vehicle, a defective taillight and operating left of center. The officer confiscated an unopened 12-pack of beer from the minor driver, who received warnings for all infractions.

An officer made contact with a driver that was seen swerving at 6:05 p.m. at 229 W. Main St., Ellsworth. The driver parked the vehicle at a church and called for a ride.

Deputies assisted Ellsworth Fire with a structure fire at 9:14 a.m. at C3 Church (W7562 US Highway 10, Ellsworth). No one was injured. The fire started in the rafters of the auditorium.

Officers responded at 12:01 p.m. to N1872 670th St., Bay City, for a neighbor who struck the complainant’s dog on a shared driveway and left the area. Police found evidence on the striking vehicle. The suspect agreed to pay the veterinarian bills.

Friday, Jan. 21

Police pulled over a vehicle at 12:43 a.m. near N8010 Highway 65, River Falls, for traveling well under the posted speed limit and crossing the center line. The vehicle pulled into the church parking lot and said they had been looking at trash on the side of the road.

Officers performed a welfare check at 1:36 p.m. on a woman at 115 Main St., Plum City, who had reported a possible gas leak. She was fine and the gas company had arrived to check out the house.

Police responded to a vehicle vs. guard rail crash with no injuries at 7:06 p.m. near County Road A and Highway 10, Ellsworth. An accident report was completed.

Jail staff requested assistance with a disorderly inmate harming herself at 7:14 p.m. at 555 W. Overlook Drive. The inmate was moved.

Officers were asked to respond at 7:30 p.m. to N6240 Highway 65, Beldenville, for a vehicle in the ditch. When they arrived, the tracks could be seen but the vehicle had left.

Hospital staff reported a dog bite at 9:02 p.m. that had occurred at N2015 290th St., Maiden Rock. The victim had accidentally been bitten by his own dog on his property. Quarantine paperwork was issue to the owner.

Deputies responded for a vehicle in the ditch at 9:09 p.m. near Highway 35 and 370th Avenue, Prescott. The vehicle’s tracks were spotted, but the vehicle itself was no longer on the scene.

A caller reported someone walking near the road at 9:29 p.m. near Highway 65 and 920th Street, River Falls. Police didn’t locate the walker.

Officers responded to a vehicle rollover at 10:41 p.m. near Highway 35 and 370th Avenue, Prescott. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was towed.

Deputies responded at 11:27 p.m. to N8652 940th St., River Falls, for a vague report of an argument. A man and woman were having a verbal argument but agreed to remain civil for the night. Deputies were called back a short time later and the man was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct after the argument escalated.

Saturday, Jan. 22

A caller reported a suspicious vehicle in their driveway at 12:44 a.m. an W4387 Highway 72, Ellsworth. It turned out to be an unwelcome family member wanting gas money.

Prescott police asked deputies to respond to a possible physical domestic at 3:29 a.m. at 138 Orange St. While en route, the complainant became uncooperative and the call was cancelled.

Police had an abandoned, disabled vehicle towed from the roadway at 6:09 a.m. near Highway 29 and County Road N, Spring Valley.

Officers were called at 7:59 a.m. W8374 770th Ave., River Falls, where an unoccupied vehicle was still in the ditch where it had hit a fence. Police contacted the vehicle’s owner and completed a crash report.

Deputies received a suspicious person complaint at 12:23 p.m. at N650 825th St., Hager City. Two people were in an ice shack at the far site of the campground fishing. No problems were noted.

Police responded at 3:44 p.m. to Highway 65 and County Road O, River Falls, for a report of a 4- or 5-yearold boy walking on the highway shoulder. The boy was found safe at home with his mother.

Officers responded at 6:14 p.m. to W11156 County Road M, River Falls, for a verbal argument. The caller agreed to leave for the evening.

A vehicle was towed after it crashed at 6:42 p.m. near Highway 35 and 370th Avenue, Prescott. No one was injured.

Police were called at 7:28 p.m. to N63851297th St., Prescott, for an unwanted and disorderly person. Two people were arguing about vehicle use. The subjects were separated.

Deputies responded to a one-vehicle rollover crash without injury at 10:14 p.m. near W12101 Highway 29, Prescott. The driver left the scene before police arrived, but was reached by phone. A citation was issued for failure to control vehicle. The vehicle was towed.

Police marked a vehicle in the ditch at 11:22 p.m. near County Road J and Highway 65, Beldenville.

Sunday, Jan. 23

Deputies assisted Spring Valley EMS with a medical call at 5:35 a.m. at W3137 890th Ave., Spring Valley.

Police came across a Chevy Cruze that had slid off the road at 8:58 a.m. at highways 10 and 29 near Prescott. A tow came to pull the vehicle out, while the driver was cited for operating without a license (second).

Officers assisted RF police with a domestic at 11:13 a.m. at 122 ½ W. Cascade Ave. A man was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.

Police happened upon a one-vehicle crash where property had been struck at 12:21 p.m. near Highway 65 and County Road J, Beldenville. An accident report was completed.

A vehicle was towed from the ditch at 7:25 p.m. near Highway 35 and 468th Avenue, Prescott.

Officers provided lights for a tow truck pulling a vehicle out of the ditch at 10:14 p.m. at Highway 35 and County Road K, Hager City.
