PIERCE COUNTY Sheriff’s Office Reports
The following incidents were reported to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department Jan. 11-17.
Tuesday, Jan. 11
A driver was arrested for operating after revoked (alcohol related), felony bail jumping and a probation hold after a traffic stop for speeding at 12:44 a.m. at Highway 63 and 825th Street, Hager City.
Deputies assisted River Falls police at 2:56 a.m. in trying to locate a suspect who fled from a vehicle after sliding into someone’s front yard at 668 Meadowbrook Lane. They were unable to locate a track.
Officers responded for a vehicle in the ditch at 7:49 a.m. near Highway 65 and County Road O, River Falls. The driver was cited for failure to keep vehicle under control. The vehicle was towed.
At 4:18 p.m., police responded to W7965 390th Ave., Ellsworth, for a possible bond violation. A man was arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping and transported to the jail.
Police responded at 6:35 p.m. to W1173 Maryann St., Spring valley, for a possible theft in progress. Police made contact with two men who had bought vans from multiple homeowners. The owners confirmed they’d sold their vehicles and everything was OK.
At 8:12 p.m. a caller reported two vehicles parked near the Back Channel and Mr. Sippi’s for hours. The individuals said they were picking rocks.
Officers responded at 11:17 p.m. to W227 S. Third St., Spring Valley, for a possible domestic in progress. Both parties said they were fine.
Wednesday, Jan. 12
Police were called at 6:36 a.m. to W5127 330th Ave., Ellsworth, to check on a vehicle that had parked in a driveway. The driver was slumped over the wheel. However, the vehicle left before police arrived and deputies couldn’t locate it.
Officers were called at 10:22 a.m. to W9764 619th Ave., Ellsworth, for a possible medical call. The person was pronounced dead by medical staff.
Officers assisted River Falls Fire with a propane tank leak at 12:14 p.m. at W12020 846th Ave., River Falls.
Deputies responded at 3:03 p.m. to W7965 390th Ave., Ellsworth, for a reported bond violation. A man was arrested for misdemeanor bail jumping.
Police were called at 3:10 p.m. to N5504 170th St., Elmwood, to check on a suspicious vehicle and two men. One of the men was the homeowner and the other was his son, who was working to reorganize his garage. He had a new pickup with dealer plates still attached.
Officers responded a 9:01 p.m. to N2180 611th St., Bay City, to locate a person with a Pierce County warrant. The person was taken into custody and transported to the jail.
A deputy performed a traffic stop at 11:51 p.m. near Highway 63 and County Road VV (south intersection) after observing suspicious activity. The driver was cited for operating without a license on his person.
Thursday, Jan. 13
An officer performed a security check at the mine (W3302 Highway 35, Maiden Rock) after noticing the gate was open. No one as located.
Deputies provided traffic control at 10 a.m. near N8216 690th St., River Falls, while a semi was removed from the ditch.
Police responded at 1:05 p.m. to N735 825th St., Hager City, for a report of a fire that could be seen from the Minnesota side of the river. A woman there was burning a desk in a fire pit. She was told to call in a controlled burn next time.
Friday, Jan. 14
Police responded at 6:58 a.m. to highways 63 and 35, Hager City, for a vehicle in the ditch. The driver was able to drive out with a little help.
A vehicle was towed out of the ditch at 8:14 a.m. from Highway 63 and 490th Street, Spring Valley. The vehicle had no damage.
A towing company removed a vehicle from the ditch at 10:17 a.m. near Highway 36 and 468th Avenue, Prescott.
A Pierce County Sheriff’s Office vehicle was involved in a crash at 12:09 p.m. near highways 63 and 35, Hager City. Ellsworth Police Department is writing the report.
A caller reported a vehicle down the embankment at 12:53 p.m. near Highway 10 and 50th Street, Plum City. A neighbor was able to pull it out with a tractor.
Police responded to a vehicle fire at 6:43 p.m. near Highway 29 and 640th Avenue, Prescott. An accident report is being written. There were no injuries.
Officers responded to a onevehicle rollover without injury at 8:21 p.m. at County Road C and 250th Avenue, Bay City. The vehicle was towed.
RF police performed a welfare check at 9:21 p.m. of a person walking in the area of Highway 65 and 920th Street, River Falls. The person was walking to work.
Police responded to a suspicious vehicle report at 9:56 p.m. near 757th Avenue and 1216th Street, River Falls. Police located the vehicle and pulled it over due to an obstructed license plate. The parents of the minor occupants were contacted.
Police checked the area of North Second Street and County Road B, Spring Valley, at 10:20 p.m. for a snowmobile that has reportedly been riding on closed trails often. The snowmobile wasn’t located.
Police saw a vehicle fail to stop at stop sign at 11:15 p.m. at East Main and Broadway streets, Ellsworth, then continue westbound on Highway 10 on the wrong side of the road. The driver refused to provide a breath sample and was arrested for OWI-fourth.
Saturday, Jan. 15
Officers were called to a one-vehicle accident without injury at 3:08 a.m. near County Road G and 425th Street, Beldenville. The driver was arrested for OWI-first and the vehicle towed.
Officers responded to a vehicle in the ditch at 5:16 a.m. at highways 10 and 63, Ellsworth. The driver was cited for operating without a valid license and given a ride home.
Police responded to a vehicle slide-in at 5:38 a.m. at Highway 10 and 530th Avenue, Hager City. The vehicle had no damage.
Officers found a vehicle slide-in at 7:59 a.m. near 610th Avenue and Highway 65, Ellsworth. The vehicle, which was unoccupied, was tagged.
A truck was in the ditch at 8 a.m. near 290th Street and 730th Avenue, Spring Valley. It was hanging sideways on top of a culvert.
Sunday, Jan. 16
Officers responded at 7:37 a.m. to a vehicle in the ditch at 610th Avenue and 670th Street, Ellsworth. Two vehicles were located along with three occupants. A vehicle search was performed after drug paraphernalia was viewed in plain sight. Three people were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police were called about a vehicle slide-in at 7:40 a.m. near Highway 72 and County Road G, Elmwood. When police arrived no one was inside the vehicle, which didn’t appear to have damage. Police contacted the registered owner at his address.
A caller reported a suspicious vehicle stopped at the stop sign for a long time at 8:25 a.m. near N1090 825th St., Hager City. The vehicle left before police arrived.
Officers assisted River Falls police at 8:59 p.m. at 513 S. Wasson Lane, where a man was making threats toward a neighbor, possibly with a firearm. The man and firearm were located and taken into custody without further incident.
Officers gave a man a courtesy ride home from the Red Wing ER to W3936 330th Ave., Maiden Rock, at 5:02 a.m. The man couldn’t locate anyone to give him a ride home.
