The board of Directors of the active St. Croix Valley Shrine Club held their regular board of directors virtual meeting on January 18th. Their agenda was packed with numerous reports even though much of their activities have been altered due to Covid.
Changes at the Shrine Clinic Twin Cities
Bob Hering, a member of the Shrine Children's board of Governors gave a report on the changes that took place in 2020. In May a new name was applied to the Twin Cities location with future rollout planned across the national system. Their new name will be Shriner's Children's which replaces Shriner's Healthcare for Children going forward.
The construction of the new facility in Woodbury was completed and it opened its doors. The last week of June was the transition week._ On June 29 the first patient was seen at the new Shriners Children's Outpatient Clinic and the keys to the old hospital building were turned over to the U of M by Administrator Charlie Lobeck._ After 15 years as the clinics administrator, Mr Lobeck retired in September. Andrew 'Drew' Graul was appointed to the new corporate Administrator position. Drew will further develop the SC-TC clinic model.
The new Shriners Children's Outpatient Clinic ribbon cutting and dedication as conducted by Imperial Potentate Jim Smith on Friday August 21.
Roger Keller informed the board that this coming year's Football game in River Falls is moving forward with reservations having been made at the dinner October 1st 2021. Further plans are being developed.
Rod Rommel receives special honor
