ELMWOOD – With spring comes a sense of renewal. Renewing friendships and business relationships as well as forging new partnerships is what motivates members of the Pierce County Dairy Promotion Committee.
The committee is hosting a Spring Dairy Connections Luncheon at 1 p.m. Sunday, March 13 at the Elmwood Auditorium, located at 323 W. Winter Ave. in downtown Elmwood. Any dairy farm family, agribusiness or those interested in the dairy industry are cordially invited to attend.
Valley Ag Software (formerly known as AgSource) will present awards to county farm families for milk production and milk quality. In addition, Compeer Financial will present an award to the 2021 Dairy Service Award recipient. This person is chosen in recognition of their contributions to the dairy industry in Pierce County and beyond. 4-H dairy judging members and 4-H clubs who promote dairy products will also be honored.
Dr. Steve Kelm, UWRF Dairy Science Professor, will share how the Dairy Innovation Hub is a statewide initiative implemented in Wisconsin to offer support to dairy farmers. Kelm will outline how this legislative initiative will support dairy farm families and the industry in Pierce County and our state through research and innovation.
A full lunch will be provided to those who attend the Spring Dairy Connections Luncheon. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Adult tickets are $13 per person, kids ages 6-12 are $5 and kids ages 5 and under eat for free.
Mark your calendars to come on March 13! Submitted by the Pierce County Dairy Promotion Committee
