As the last 4th of July baseball game wound down in Spring Valley, the crowds waited expectantly for the fireworks to begin. The valley around the football field reverberated with thunderous booms, while glo-stick bedecked children and adults oohed and aahed. Storm clouds threatened in the north, with a flicker or two of lightning, but the weather remained clear for the Spring Valley Chamber of Commerce and American Legion sponsored show. The All-American celebration also served up hotdogs, root beer floats and baked goods. Photos by Sarah Nigbor
