RIVER FALLS – River Falls Social Justice held a rally in solidarity with Iranian women, along with a memo rial for Mahsa Amini on Thursday, Oct. 5 at Veterans Park in River Falls.
The young Iranian woman was killed by the “morality police" for not wearing her hijab properly. Several people participated in the rally and handouts were given to people walking by. People were quite interested in what is happening in Iran and unti l now have been poorly info rmed by the Western press.
According to organizer Jackie Brux, “The issue goes far beyond simply a dress code for Iranian women or an issue of religion, and is a revolution of sorts for all Iranian people, women and men, against a very repressive government." According to Brux, “we stand in solidarity with the people of Iran."
