Stanley (Stan) G. Meyer, age 83, of River Falls, Wis. passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026 in River Falls..
Stan was born on March 5, 1943, in River Falls to the late Bernard Meyer and Edna (Nelson) Meyer.
Stan worked for his father’s gas station, Meyer’s Mileage Service on Main Street prior to joining the Army National Guard in 1963. After six years in the service as an infantry man, Stan went to work as a mail clerk for the St. Paul Post Office where he worked his remaining career. Stan was a devoted son who took care of his mom until she passed. Stan was a landlord for 30-plus years and a police reservist for River Falls for a few years, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. After retirement, you could find Stan and his dogs shopping locally at Ace Hardware, visiting the local banks to talk with the local ladies, and eating at local restaurants. Stan loved to “catch-up” and would always end his conversations with “that’s all that is happening on the Western Front.”
Stan loved spending time doing what he wanted to do. As a bachelor he enjoyed his cabin, model trains, fishing, and walking his beloved dogs. Buckwheat and Tauney were Stan’s true companions. Stan did not have children of his own, but he did enjoy his brother’s family and joined them for holidays and celebrations. Stan was known to take his nieces and nephew under his wing and pass along his knowledge.
Stan will be remembered for his faith, entrepreneurial endeavors, the deep love for animals, especially dogs, and for the River Falls community.
Stan is survived by his brother, Charles B. Meyer, Sr.; nieces and nephew, Laura Rebholz, Linda (Perry Pugliano) Meyer, Charlie (Laura) Meyer, Lana (Jeff) Meyer and numerous grand nieces and nephews.
Stan was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Edna Meyer; and his sister-in-law, Patricia Meyer.
