ELMWOOD – On Thursday, Aug. 24, Staying Put is hosting an Elmwood meet and greet event to further introduce our organization to the community. From 4–7 p.m., seniors in the Elmwood area and interested volunteers are invited to learn about the free services that Staying Put offers and enjoy a delicious meal with some of our board members, clients, and volunteers. Anyone (age 13 and up) interested in volunteering in the Elmwood area is also invited to attend.

Starting in 2014 in Spring Valley, Staying Put has worked to help seniors and adults with disabilities “stay put” in their homes. We offer services ranging from transportation (to and from medical appointments, grocery shopping, and other errands) delivery of Meals on Wheels, help with technology or housework, and a full calendar of monthly events to support and socialize with seniors and adults with disabilities in the community. 

Since our expansion into the Elmwood community in May 2022, we are working hard behind the scenes to bring our full menu of services to the area. This includes an exciting future with monthly music programs, social gatherings, and a senior fitness program in the works. To offer these services, we need interested seniors and volunteers to make that happen!
