Steven T. Schoeder, 79, a resident of Cape Coral, Fla. since 2000, formerly of Elmwood, Wis., passed away surrounded by his loved ones on Friday, June 16, 2023. He was born July 11, 1943 in Elmwood, Wis. to the late Thomas and Minnie (Horman) Schoeder. After graduation from Elmwood High School, Steve enlisted in the US Army where he was a proud member of the 7th Special Forces and 82nd Airborne Division. During this time Steve would marry his high school sweetheart Rose Sinz.

Upon discharge, they resided between Wisconsin and Minnesota where Steve would become an entrepreneur starting numerous business ventures including BS Construction and Steve’s Scoring. He was also very active in his community and church. Steve was very proud of his children and grandchildren and the families they created. When he wasn’t working Steve also loved to play. He loved hunting and fishing which included trips to Africa and Canada, trap shooting, bowling and anything that involved Happy Hour!

Steven is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Rose Schoeder of Cape Coral, Fla.; two children, Nicholas Schoeder (Kathy Fedie) of Elmwood, Wis. and Dawn Schoeder (Richard Fuerst) of Eau Claire, Wis.; daughter-in-law Deb (Fugate) Schoeder of Elmwood, Wis.; brother, Michael Schoeder of Cottage Grove, Minn.; eight grandchildren, Mitchell (Kelly), Nicole, Justina (Ben), Samantha (Corey), Lindsey (Hayden), Madison, Elaine and Grace; two step grandchildren Justin (Carly) and Tyler (Lauren) Fugate; four great grandchildren, Wyatt, Lilly, Brooks and Khloe; and three step great grandchildren, Kaylee, Wesson, Kimber, and Nash as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. Steve was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Minnie Schoeder, son; Jeffrey Schoeder and sister, Mary Ellen Schoeder.

A Celebration of Life will be held 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2023 at Welcome Home Senior Living in Elmwood with Military Honors at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your local American Legion Post.
