Shayanne Stenroos
Prescott High School Junior Shayanne Stenroos is this week’s Prescott High School Student of the Week.
Shayanne is the daughter of Tina Stenroos.
She was nominated for the honor by Ms. Jodarski, who said, “Despite having a gap between her Spanish I and II experiences, Shay has jumped back into language learning wholeheartedly with an eagerness to grow and a willingness to take risks. On a daily basis, she shows that she is conscientious, thoughtful, brave and curious by volunteering insightful responses and by asking perceptive questions about the structure of the language and the cultures of the people who speak it. The trait that I admire most about Shay is her selflessness. She encourages her classmates to give their best effort, and she cheers others on when they have success. Although she has only been in Spanish II for six weeks, she has become a vital member of our language learning community.: Shayanne is involved in competitive dance and teaches dance at Stella Dance Studio. She helps with youth groups and music at Joy Lutheran Church, she’s involved with the United Teens Encounter Christ organization and finds time to work at The Kitchen Table.
Shayanne’s hobbies are singing, playing piano, dancing, photography and spending time with family.
She is a member of the Prescott High School Dance Team, as well as A Capella Choir, the musical, drama and student council. She is in the National Honor Society and an honor roll student.
Her future plans are to study either criminology or developmental psychology after high school. She aspires to be a part of a dance team at a four-year university.
