Superintendent’s column: Kicking off the 2025–26 School Year: Patience, progress, and priorities

Posted

As we embark on another school year, I’d like to highlight a couple themes that are guiding the start of the 2025-26 school year. Although it can be hectic, this truly is an exciting time for the School District of River Falls.

Patience as facilities projects near completion

Over the past 10 weeks, several schools and district facilities, including River Falls High School, Meyer Middle School, Rocky Branch, Westside, Greenwood, and the Transportation Center, have all been busy construction areas. We are excited to have all these spaces completed and ready for district and community use. All projects remain on schedule, with instructional areas ready for the first day of school. The Transportation Center will be completed by the end of September and the multi-purpose addition at the high school will be completed by mid-October. For more information and photos on project progress please visit the facilities projects page at www.rfsd.k12.wi.us/facilitiesupdates.

Staying focused on our priorities

It can be easy to become distracted when planning for the start of a school year. However, based on the ongoing analysis from parents/guardians, students, and staff, along with academic and engagement data, we continue to prioritize academic growth for all students, student engagement, and employee satisfaction. Throughout the year, we intend to provide consistent, regular progress updates in each of these areas.

We are grateful for our supportive community and are committed to keeping our families and community members informed. Stay connected by subscribing to our monthly e-newsletter at www.rfsd.k12.wi.us/communications. Updates are also shared through school-specific newsletters, the district website, Facebook, Instagram, and community-wide mailings, all designed to make district information easy to access.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we begin this exciting year together.
