RIVER FALLS - Golfers, community members, and supporters of charitable initiatives are invited to participate in the upcoming fundraiser golf tournament scheduled for Friday, Sept. 5 at the River Falls Golf Club. This event promises an exciting day on the course, with all proceeds directly benefiting the River Falls Food Pantry, an organization dedicated to assisting local individuals and families in need.
The tournament is being organized by the family of Lynn Geurkink, also known as “Arnold,” a longtime resident and post office mail carrier who died last fall.
“Feeding hungry people was always important to our dad. His family was on assistance when he was young, and this inspired him to take the lead in organizing the local postal food drive each spring,” shared Adam & Kenisha Geurkink and Katie & Edward Moline. “That’s why we requested memorials for the Food Pantry.”
“The donations received in honor of Lynn kept the pantry afloat last fall. I remember him well. He was such a nice guy,” added Candice Anderson, Executive Director of the River Falls Food Pantry. “The community needs are increasing, and we appreciate the work that this family is doing to help remember Lynn and raise needed funds.”
