To round out the track and field regular season, each team took part in their respective conference championship meet. First place finishes and personal best times made for an exciting week.

 

Dunn-St. Croix

Elmwood/Plum City had a pair of conference champions in Colfax. Junior Allie Sauve, who had been dominant in the event all year long, won the triple jump with a 32-09.25 score. Junior Brewer Link also took home the high jump crown with a 6-02.

Second-place finishers to make the all-conference second team were Leslie Widman in the 100-meter dash and long jump, Andrea Arredondo in the 200-meter race and Link in the 400. Rounding things out were the third-place finishers who earned honorable mention all-conference spots. That list included Brett Kopp and Aurora Sampair in the discus, Ella Quail in the 3,200, Arredondo in the 100 and the girls 4x200 relay (Emma Sauve, Adison Zeilinger, Lillian Pullen and Polly Webb).

The EPC girls finished second as a team at the conference meet.

For Spring Valley, sophomore Katie Matthys’ 17.62 time in the 100-meter hurdles was good enough for second team all-conference. Parker Cipriano was an honorable mention in third place in the high jump, and so was the girls 4x400 (Ella Peterson, Maddie Connors, Stella Mathison and Rylie Fritz).

Middle Border Conference

Prescott secured a long list of all-conference honors. Andrew Russell won both the 100 with a 10.77 and the 400 with a 49.75. Makaria Haas also won the discus with a 116’2” score.

Second team all-conference honors went to the boys 4x200 (Andrew Lesso, Ashton Marshall, Carter Hood and Quentin Holt), Eyan Miller in the high jump, the girls 4x800 (Amber Van Loon, Emma Schmitz, Lily Vesperman and Kyra Dix), Addyson Allsop in the 300 hurdles and Dix in the 3,200. Rounding out all-conference honors with honorable mentions and third place finishes were Haas in the shot put, Russell in the 200, Gavin Miller in the high jump, the boys 4x400 (Marshall, Ryder Doyle, Hood and Liam Haeg), the boys 4x800 (Haeg, Nolan Leask, Wyatt Fortney and Dawson Langer) and Micah Overland in the 110-meter hurdles.

The Prescott boys were the runner-ups as a team, with the girls also finishing solidly in fifth.

Ellsworth’s senior standout Chace Kressin was the conference champion in the discus with a 144'4" score. Keegan Stahlke, who is the school record holder in the 400, took second place at the conference championships and freshman Audrah Krig took second in the high jump. Libby Groh was third in the high jump, joined by Adolfo Mendez in the 800, the girls 4x100 (Isabelle Peterson, Julia Boyle, Lexi Marks and Lily Hanson) and the girls 4x200 (Boyle, Marks, Peterson and Hanson).

 

Big Rivers Conference

River Falls had an impressive four winners at the Big Rivers Conference meet. Abigail Treichel won the high jump, Kayla Hoeft and Blake Schneider each won the pole vault and the boys 4x100 (Joseph Tarasewicz, Mason Novak, Devon Fox and Charlie Burke) won the title by just a mere 0.002 of a second.

Taking second were Olive Halvorson in the 1,600, the girls 4x200 relay (Isabelle Russell, Jayla Johnson, Willa Barry and Mackenzie Schmidt) and Jackson Magee in the 300 hurdles. Halvorson was also third in the 3,200, joined by Burke in the 100, Jacob Hutchins in the high jump, Cruz Johnson in the triple jump and the boys 4x200 (Novak, Tarasewicz, Cade Christiansen and Hutchins).
