In Loving Memory of Terrance Lee Tobias Sept. 19, 1954 – Oct. 27, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Terrance Lee Tobias, who departed this world peacefully in his home at 69 years old.
Terrance “Terry” was a caring father, a proud grandfather, and a supportive friend to many. His lively personality and lighthearted humor brought joy to his relationships. Alongside his bright nature, he was an excellent listener and always offered valuable advice and insight.
Born on Sept. 19, 1954, to Marcel and Frances Tobias in Prescott, Wis., Terry carried the values of his upbringing with him throughout his life. Following his high school graduation, he pursued a business education at Stevens Point College. After his college studies, he relocated to Rochester, Minn. where he got married and started a family. His professional reputation was built on a diligent work ethic that propelled him to have a successful career in sales. His charismatic nature helped him establish long-lasting connections with his customers, and his numerous achievements garnered the admiration and respect of his colleagues.
Terry was a very active person who devoted a lot of his time working out at the gym and walking the beaches in search of seashells. He loved Florida’s warm climate and basking in the sunshine. Throughout the years, he enjoyed visiting other sunny destinations like Las Vegas, Palm Springs, and San Diego, where he would spend time with family. Despite not living close to all his children and grandchildren, he held them in the highest regard, and his face would light up with joy whenever he spoke about them.
In his leisure time, he found pleasure in assembling wooden boats, collecting coins, and acquiring vintage stamps. Those who knew him also knew how passionate he was about cars. He would dedicate hours to meticulously maintaining the condition of his cars, ensuring they were always in impeccable shape. When taking a ride with him, you could count on music playing loudly and spontaneous seat dancing.
Terry leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew him. He is survived by his children, Janelle (Jeremy) Robinson, Jason (Paris) Tobias, Christian (Adelaide) Gould; his grandchildren, Aja, Isla, Evelyn, Ayla, and Ariya; his siblings Anthony Tobias and Cindy Early, and five beloved nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time. Terry had a special fondness for the holiday season and was particularly enthusiastic about donating toys to underprivileged children. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Toys for Tots in honor of him.
Though Terrance Lee Tobias has left this world, his legacy will endure in the hearts and minds of all who were fortunate to know him. May he find eternal peace, and may his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration to us all.
