Paperboy and Publisher
In the last two months, since we rolled out the “new and improved” version of The Journal to all of Pierce County, we’ve heard one thing almost weekly.
“Where’s the River Falls news?”
We’ve heard it from multiple elected officials. We’ve heard it from many business owners. We field several calls a week.
We listened, River Falls. We’re here. We’re proud to be your community paper now too.
This is an important edition of The Journal, so we want to get it in as many hands as possible. There’s plenty of news about the impact on COVID-19 on our everyday lives. There’s lots and lots of information on local elections.
Please take heed and arrange to vote absentee if you are able. But do vote. As much as this virus has put our lives on hold, let’s make sure it doesnt’ put democracy on hold.
We really can’t go further without extending a huge debt of gratitude to all the public employees out there. Staff in all city and school district offices are really doing everything they can do to make our communities run right now.
To Pierce County Public Health: We appreciate the lengths you are going to make sure we all have a grasp on what COVID-19 can do if we don’t take precautions.
And lest we forget health care workers, from senior and asssisted living centers to clinics and hospitals: Thank you, thank you, thank you.
To local businesses and the community: The Journal is here to help in any way we can, and we’ll continue to work tirelessly to put out the best local newspaper we are capable of producing.
Stay safe!
