Thomas Ray Lewis, age 33, passed away unexpectedly on Sept. 14, 2023, in Minneapolis. Born on March 9, 1990, to parents Terry and Kriste (Hartley) Lewis, he was a remarkable individual whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew him.

Thomas was a true people person, known for his boundless sociability and his willingness to extend a helping hand to anyone in need, all without a trace of judgment. He had a deep love for family and travel, creating cherished memories wherever he roamed.

Music was another passion close to his heart, as he lent his voice to the Mayo High School and University of Minnesota Duluth choirs and found solace and joy in its harmonious melodies. Thomas was also an active follower of current affairs and politics, always staying informed and engaging in thoughtful discussions about the world around him. He had a keen interest in staying up to date on the latest technology, embracing the cutting-edge innovations that shaped our modern world.

Thomas was a man of action, always on the move, and happiest when engaged in various activities. He had a booming presence that filled any room with energy, his laughter and warmth leaving an indelible mark on those fortunate enough to share moments with him.

Beyond his sociability, Thomas was also known as an exceptional cook, tantalizing taste buds with his culinary creations. His generous spirit extended to volunteering and supporting charitable causes, exemplifying his commitment to making the world a better place.

Sports held a special place in his heart, and he relished the thrill of attending sporting events, passionately cheering on his favorite teams. His love for the great outdoors led him to the serene waters of the Boundary Waters, where he found tranquility in canoeing and the excitement of fishing.

In this time of loss, we remember Thomas Ray Lewis not with sorrow but with gratitude for the joy, laughter, and love, he shared with us. He will forever be etched in our hearts, a reminder of the limitless capacity for kindness, enthusiasm, and the sheer joy of living life to its fullest.

Thomas is survived by his mother, Kriste (Gary Brown) Lewis; grandparents: Kenneth and Alice Hartley; siblings: Benjamin (Tiffany) Lewis, Bradley (Karuna) Lewis, Joseph Lewis; stepsiblings: Andrew (Sarah) Brown, Katherine Brown, and Nicole (Robert) Barton; aunts: Susan (Ron) Karwoski, Renee (Russ) Farrell, Bobbe (Mike) Bartley, Jean Lewis; along with many nieces and one nephew. He was preceded in death by his father, Terry Lewis; grandparents: Robert and Iris Lewis; and three uncles: Randall Hartley, Raymond Hartley and Todd Lewis.

A Memorial Service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, 2023, at English Lutheran Church: 229 W. Main St., Ellsworth, WI 54011. A visitation will start at 10 a.m. until the start of the service. Interment will be on a later date in Austin, Minn.
