ELLSWORTH — The Ellsworth Public Library invites the community to experience “Through My Eyes,” a captivating art exhibit featuring the work of fine artist, painter, and illustrator Rita Zawislak-Brandt. The exhibit will be on view throughout November and December 2025 and is free and open to the public during regular library hours.
Zawislak-Brandt, a Prescott-based artist, works across multiple mediums including acrylic, pastel, pencil, and pen & ink. With a background as a graphic artist and design director at the University of Wisconsin–River Falls, Zawislak-Brandt brings decades of creative experience to her work. Her art explores a variety of subjects—from figurative compositions and landscapes to portraits of children and animals—each piece reflecting her curiosity, emotions, and artistic evolution.
“Art is a personal journey,” says Zawislak-Brandt. “Through this journey, I work with watercolors, acrylics, pastels, pencil, and pen & ink. From abstract to realistic portraits, architectural renderings, landscapes, and still life, I seek to develop a broader artistic voice. My paintings are about feelings and emotions that viewers can connect with on a personal level. When I face an empty canvas, I see surprises unfold as I engage with what’s naturally inspired. I hope visitors enjoy discovering these moments with me through my work.”
