Thursday, Feb. 10 RF Area Retired Educators Association meeting, 11 a.m., West Wind Supper Club (709 N. Main St., River Falls). The group is always looking for new members from Hudson, Baldwin, Prescott, River Falls, Spring Valley and New Richmond. Guest speaker will be River Falls Public Library Director Tanya Misselt. Please join us if you’re retired and worked in any capacity in the public schools. Our chapter and the Wisconsin Retired Educator’s Association work to protect our pension. We also award scholarships and volunteer in our schools and communities.

Saturday, Feb. 12 Seventh Annual Funsters Ice Fishing Contest, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Roger Nelson’s Rush River Ice Sculptures (N2696 County Road A, Maiden Rock). Fishing, fun and prizes. Some poles will be provided. Please bring barbelss poles, if you bring your own. Hot dogs, chips, hot chocolate and cookies.

Winter Wonders Hike, 1 p.m., Kinnickinnic State Park (W11983 820th Ave., River Falls). Meet at the external parking lot on 770th Avenue off County Road F. Join the naturalist and discover one of her favorite winter hiking trails. The 3-mile hike goes through several different habitats and offers beautiful, ridge-top views of the Kinnickinnic. Dress for the weather and bring along water, good hiking boots and binoculars. The event is free but park vehicle admission is required. Cupid’s Ball, 1-4 p.m., Brother Michael Center, Spring Valley. Hosted by the Spring Valley Royalty. A family night of dancing and fun in celebration of Valentine’s Day! Concessions will be available for purchase. Photography by Summer Mitchell Photography will be offered. A king and queen of the night will be crowned. Cost is $20 at the door. Drive-Thru Steak Dinner, 4-7 p.m., St. Paul’s United Church of Christ (W5706 Highway 72, Ellsworth). Meal includes grilled steak, baked potato, special green beans, salad, homemade buns and dessert. Music begins at 6:30 p.m., lip sync variety show starts at 7 p.m. (featuring Mockingbirds event specialists), and more music at 8 p.m. Cost is $20 per person.
