Did you know that the River Falls Public Library has some amazing digital resources available for families? If you are stuck at home in quarantine, trying to balance online learning with your daily life, or simply looking for fun and easy ways to teach and entertain your children, the library has some great options for you to consider.
TumbleBook Library is a collection of books that are free to access with your library card. Each book is read aloud in an interactive video that lets kids read along with the narrator. These are great for when you need a break between activities, a quiet moment with your child, or when you want to explore new ideas. In addition to many popular picture book titles, TumbleBook Library also has a selection of chapter books that they call “read alongs,” and some recommended non-fiction so even older kids can find something they can get excited about.
When we think about early literacy, we often focus all of our attention on reading, but did you know that early math skills are so important that they can actually help kids become better readers as well as improve their math skills? Early math skills like understanding numbers, counting, putting things in order, and basic concepts like large and small all help kids to learn and to read. TumbleMath is a companion to TumbleBooks and contains one of the most comprehensive collections of books that feature these math concepts that you will find anywhere. In TumbleMath, you can find books featuring almost any math skill you may want to practice, and many you may not have even considered. These books are delightful and engaging and make learning math fun and accessible.
