On Saturday, August 15th, at about 4:45 p.m., the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single motorcycle crash with injuries on State Road 35 near County Road QQ in Oak Grove Township.
It was determined a 1999 Harley Davidson Road King operated by Jay Fischer, 49, of Fridley, MN and passenger Maren Koscielski, 49, of Minnetonka, MN was traveling northbound on State Road 35 near County Road QQ. Mr. Fischer reportedly lost control of the motorcycle while negotiating a curve and entered the east ditch.
Koscielski was pronounced deceased at the scene. Fischer was transported from the scene by Life Link III Helicopter to Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN with undetermined injuries.
The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by the Prescott Police Department and Fire Department, River Falls Area Ambulance Service and Wisconsin State Patrol.
This crash remains under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
Two-vehicle crash in Rock Elm
On Sunday, August 16th, 2020 at 2:24 p.m, sheriff’s office was notified of a two-vehicle accident with injuries on STH 72 near 130th Street Elmwood in Rock Elm Township.
It was determined that Uziel Cerezo, 27 years old, from Crystal, MN. was operating a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on STH 72. Mr. Cerezo failed to negotiate a curve and drove left of center striking a westbound 2005 Lexus, which was being operated by Nicole Brookshaw, 46, from Ellsworth. There were two passengers in the Brookshaw vehicle: Tova Brookshaw, 18, and a male juvenile passenger both from Ellsworth. They were uninjured in the crash.
Cerezo was transported from the scene by Elmwood Area Ambulance Service to MAYO Hospital in Menomonie with undetermined injuries.
Assisting the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office at the scene was Elmwood Fire Department and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
This accident is still under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office and the Wisconsin State Patrol.
