WACO, Texas - The UW-River Falls football team is ranked No. 5 with 1,005 points in this week's American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Coaches' Top 25 Poll, released Sept. 25, 2023.
The Falcons debuted at No. 6 in the first edition of the 2023 AFCA Coaches Poll on Sept. 18, continue their historic climb in the national rankings.
UWRF also were ranked among the top 10 for the third week in a row on D3football.com, improving from No. 7 to No. 6, again marking the highest ranking by a national media outlet.
The Falcons head into Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) play this week with a 3-0 nonconference record, headlined by a 45-22 upset win over then-ranked No.3 Mary Hardin-Baylor during the 2023 opener on Sept. 2. UWRF hosts UW-Platteville this Saturday, Sept. 30 at 1 p.m. during UWRF Homecoming.
The AFCA Coaches Poll is voted on by a pool of Division III coaches.
