RIVER FALLS – The public is invited to the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Sept. 30-Oct. 6 to celebrate Homecoming festivities that will feature a range of fun activities.

This year’s celebration will commemorate not only new and traditional Homecoming events but also celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of UWRF.

Among the events recognizing both Homecoming and UWRF’s proud history is the 150th Anniversary Tailgate Party featuring a performance by UWRF student Hailey James, an award-winning singer, songwriter and recording artist, on Saturday, Oct. 5, at 11:30 a.m. at David Smith Stadium at Ramer Field.

James is a five-time award winner from the Midwest Country Music Organization and has performed during a Minnesota Vikings halftime show at U.S. Bank Stadium. She has also opened for such country music legends as Carrie Underwood, Diamond Rio and Crystal Gayle.

Recognizing UWRF’s 150th anniversary will make Homecoming an even bigger celebration, Alumni Relations Officer Pedro Renta said.

“It’s a wonderful weekend to welcome alumni back to the university along with the community,” Renta said. “It’s a time to remember, laugh, and reconnect with your Falcon family. Homecoming brings all Falcons together.”
