RIVER FALLS – On Sunday afternoon, Feb. 23, the Ezekiel Lutheran and Cross Lutheran (Roberts) church choirs, the River Falls University Community Choir, the Pierce County Ecumenical choir and the Croix Chordsmen Barbershop Chorus will present the 19th annual “It Takes a Village” Valentine Concert. The concert is a benefit for the school, orphanage, and health center built by the community of River Falls for the people of Ganthier and Gressier, Haiti.
The concert will be held at 4 p.m. at Ezekiel Lutheran Church, 202 S. Second St., River Falls. Several different genres and styles of music will be performed. Each choir will present two songs, and Deborah Fristad of the UW-RF Music Department will lead the 100+ voice massed choir in an exciting number to conclude the concert. There will also be an audience hymn sing, and Jeanette Juetten, Treasurer of Haitian Relief Services, will give an update on the Haiti projects.
A free-will offering will be taken with all proceeds going to support the projects. A dessert reception will follow the concert. Please join the River Falls community at the “It Takes a Village” concert for an excellent afternoon of music, and help support a wonderful cause!
