River Falls was impressive and then some over the weekend, scoring 136.8498 to finish fourth place out of 10 teams at State. Additionally, the “Perfect 10” gymnasts had three individual competitors in Tirfe L’Allier, Bella Franklin and Ruby Amundson.
Team competition featured eight of the 10 Wildcats competing in at least one event: Amundson, L’Allier, Franklin, Ava Petraitis, Lyla Caliva, Mckenna Cook, Josephine Soderbeck and Corinna Schmidt.
The team took second of 10 on vault, sixth on beam, fifth on bars and third on floor.
During the individual competition, Amundson took second in the all-around competition with a score of 37.050. Amundson also took second on beam, third on floor, third on vault and fourth on bars. Franklin took sixth on floor and L’Allier took seventh on vault.
Winning Division 2 team competition was Dodgeville, cruising with a 139.6834 to lead the second-place finisher by nearly a point and a half. The impressive score would have landed Dodgeville in the middle of the pack of the Division 1 standings.
River Falls continued to show improvement on what was a phenomenal season a year ago, where they scored 133.983 to place seventh at State.
